As a reflection, which is not, exempt from humour and irony, the exhibition "Dreams and Nightmares" shines light on the world of dreams and personal obsessions, on our vices and virtues and their relationship with the public and the private. At a time in the year –Christmas– when we all tend to secretly express our hopes for a better life, the transgressing and lucid, suggestive and poetic look of the always multidisciplinary current art, will reveal to us that behind very human being hides a history of passions, desires, fears… or that, at times, turning our dreams into reality, they may be transformed into a real nightmare. "Dreams and Nightmares" places us at an intersection being nourished by the surrealist tradition of the absurd and, among other things, the Fluxus spirit and the objective appropriationism of pop, proposing a carefree look at a subject in which we can all see the reflection of some facet of ourselves or our own experience.
Artists active on the current Mallorca scene are the ones responsible for interpreting the collective imagination, traumas, hopes and goals.
The first urges, the perversions and the erotic fantasies that express our perception of everyday reality and the present-day world or perhaps the persistence in the memory of certain dreams or nightmares ensure the interest of an exhibition as entertaining as it is conceptually potent.
