The paintings, the videos and the collection of images that constitute the work of Jordi Ribes are derived from the pop culture (from cheap comics to the movies of series B or Z, including photographs extracted from web pages…) showing, in a repetitive way, a composed family imagery of stereotyped figures that arise from a child´s imagination like police and thieves, Indian and cowboys, superheroes and villains…

Jordi Ribes represents these effigies on his paintings with innocence borrowing the ingenuous style of Henry Rousseau, and gives life to his videos with the simplicity of children’s make-believe.
